Are your products eco-friendly?
We try to source only eco-friendly ethical products, where possible we try to only purchase organic or at least provide an organic option.
Are your products Vegan?
Most of our products are vegan friendly - all are vegetarian. We refuse to support any businesses that condone animal testing and only work with suppliers who share our ethos.
I am struggling to order online, what should I do?
We are only a small team here, so website hiccups can happen. If so, we can take orders over the phone and then send you a secure payment link via text or email. Call us on 01889 560986.
What quantities should I order products in?
We generally sell our loose foods in increments of 10g, 50g or 100g so make sure you add your required amount. As a guide, we have provided some normal package sizes that you might buy prepacked:
Flour: 500g or 1kg
Rice: 500g or 1kg
Pasta: 500g or 1kg
Loose Tea: 300g
Loose Coffee: 300g
Pulses & Grains: 300g, 500g
Dried Fruits: 200g, 300g

How much does postage & delivery cost?
Our shipping is calculated on the weight of your order. As a small non profit we only don't have much clout with couriers but we have negotiated the best rates we could through our carbon neutral courier service. Here are our current postage rates:
0kg-2kg = £3.50
2kg-10kg = £5.95
10kg-15kg = £7.50
15kg-20kg = £9.25
On average we find most orders weigh between 1-10kg, postage will be automatically calculated on checkout.
How long will my delivery take?
During the lockdown we are offering next day local delivery for orders placed by 12 noon, for Uttoxeter and surrounding villages.
For standard courier delivery we say 3-4 working days.
Where do you deliver to?
We deliver to mainland UK. If you wish to order from UK offshore islands, then please contact us first for a P&P quotation.
We offer two types of delivery, free local delivery available during lockdown and a nationwide courier service for orders further afield.
FREE LOCAL DELIVERY - for the local Uttoxeter and Ashbourne community. Deliveries are next day for orders placed by 12 noon.
P&P DELIVERY - UK wide delivery is available using our courier partner. We offset all courier miles through our carbon offsetting programme.
How eco-friendly is your courier?
We only use couriers who offset their carbon miles, to be doubly sure, we also offset the carbon miles our end too. To be clear we use carbon offsets as a tactic that is part of a larger strategy:
1. Reduce direct emissions as much as possible.
2. Offset all remaining emissions.
To be clear, offsets are not a replacement for taking actions to reduce our carbon footprint—they are a last resort to compensate for emissions we can’t currently avoid.
Our parcel has arrived damaged, what do I do?
It's rare, but sometimes couriers can be a little heavy handed. If your parcel arrives damaged please sign for it as damaged, where possible. take a photo of any damage and get in contact with us to let us know. We need the photos to be able to claim anything back with the courier and to try and mitigate the issue in future. We will look to issue partial or full refunds on a case by case basis. Who is The Globe Foundation?
The Globe Zero Waste Shop is owned and operated by The Globe Foundation. Globe is a small nonprofit that has established a community eco centre in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. We use the shop to help raise funds for our community and environmental projects, including our volunteer programme, as well as encouraging people to make eco-friendly swaps to ethical products.
What are your opening days/hours?
Our normally opening hours are
Tues-Fri 9am to 5pm
Sat 9am to 4pm
If we are busy, we may extend these hours but the office (and phone lines) will only be covered during the official opening hours.
Do you have a physical shop?
Yes, you can visit our shop based at the Globe Eco Centre in Uttoxeter. It is a refill shop so remember to bring your containers!
